The Research Computing Center is committed to fostering a wider understanding of the promise of high-perofrmance computing. RCC participates in multiple events designed to bring that understanding to the general public.
Mind Bytes (2014, 2015, 2017)
The annual Mind Bytes symposium showcases research done using RCC resources and invites the public in to learn more about the future of high-performance computing.
Students from Chicago Public Schools spend half a day learning about how computation enables groundbreaking research in neuroscience, thanks to a partnership with the High-Performance Electrical Neuro-Imaging Laboratory.
VSCSE (2013, 2014)
RCC hosted the University of Chicago location for the Virtual School of Computational Science and Engineering (VSCSE) seminar, a multi-institution summer school dedicated to teaching attendees the skills they need to make better use of cutting edge computational resources.
