The Research Computing Center (RCC) has multiple locations.
The walk-in lab is on the second floor of the Regenstein Library - in room 216. The walk-in lab was opened to the public at the beginning of 2014 to offer in-person consultation and support to researchers. The lab has three Linux workstations that are available for researchers to use. They provide direct access to RCC software, storage, and compute nodes. Working from these machines is similar to working directly on the Midway high-performance compute cluster, but without the need to use remote-access tools. The walk-in lab is open Monday-Friday from 9AM to 5PM. Zoom appointments with a computational scientist can be requested at help@rcc.uchicago.edu.
The Midway compute cluster itself is physically housed in the secure data center in the 6045 Kenwood building.
The RCC's headquarters are at 6054 South Drexel Avenue on the University of Chicago campus.
