Recent advances in machine learning, high performance computing, and GPU computing, make it practical to train large multilayer neural networks (Deep Learning) on big datasets, reducing the training time from a few weeks to a few hours or minutes. Today, Deep Learning is applied to such diverse fields as image, audio, video recognition, self-driving cars, data analysis, health care, etc. This workshop will introduce the concepts of Deep Learning, using one of the most popular computational frameworks - TensorFlow from Google. To illustrate learning concepts, a handwriting recognition example will be used. This is an intermediate level class and participants are expected to have knowledge of Python.
