R is a popular programming language for statistical computing and graphics. Because of the emergence of the tidyverse ecosystem, R has gained a significant amount of popularity in the field of Data Science. This workshop will give a basic introduction to the R programming language and R for Data Science workflow, from reading data into memory to cleaning data, from processing data to visualization to modeling, and to data science communication (e.g., using RMarkdown and/or Quarto).
Objectives:
Gain the basic understanding of the R programming language
Learn the scope of what R can do
Understand the tidyverse ecosystem
Understand the R for Data Science workflow
Become capable of writing basic R programs

Duration: 2 hours
Prerequisites: Some familiarity to programming in general. All participants are encouraged to bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux, or Windows operating system on which they have administrative privileges, in order to participate in the hands-on training.
